Dear Schaeffer Families,
Our Schaeffer Gators will be Racing for Education on Friday, October 20th. But, rather than solicit donations strictly through a letter campaign this year, we'll be inviting family and friends to join us in helping to raise funds for field trips, classroom resources, technology in the classrooms and PTO sponsored family outreach events (e.g., Fall Harvest, Spring Fling, etc.) ONLINE! Yes, you read that right! No more letter writing and labeling (although if you prefer this option you can)! You can invite your family and friends to join us in our efforts to raise money ONLINE!

Before we get too carried away, let's stop and review. The Race for Education is the PTO's largest fundraiser. How large you ask? Well, our goal is to raise $25,000! In preparation for the Race, each Schaeffer student will raise funds by asking sponsors (usually family & friends) to make a donation to the Schaeffer Elementary PTO. Students pledge to walk or jog around a marked playground area as many times as they are able in one hour's time, the donors are supporting their tremendous efforts! 

The easiest way to donate is to visit schaefferraceforeducation.blogspot.com this will link you DIRECTLY to our PayPal account. The link gives you easy to follow steps to donate to the Schaeffer Race for Education. This link can be added to emails that you send to family and friends in hopes that they will love to support our Super Schaeffer Gators by donating.

This is a SAMPLE EMAIL that can be used to ask for donations:

Dear Family and Friends,
On Friday, October 20, 2017, Schaeffer Elementary School will be holding our third annual Race for Education. Our goal this year is $25,000. This will go towards classroom field trips, technology, teacher/student supplies and educational materials to continue to help support our students at Schaeffer. I hope you will be able to sponsor me so I can help my school. I will be jogging/walking around a playground course for an hour on October 20th. All donations are appreciated!
